Tips for Teachers 

 

Logging into netTrekker (Teachers)

  1. Go to http://school.nettrekker.com

  2. Login with:

    1. Username: usernamepsd (jsmithpsd)

    2. Password: (FIRST TIME LOGIN: See your Tech Advisor or Librarian for your temporary password)

  3. Click Login button 

 

Changing your Security Question

By default your security question is set to something generic. The security question helps to validate your account if you need to reset your password. Make sure you know the answer to your security question!

  1. Login to netTrekker

  2. Under My Tools click Profile

  3. Choose a new password question and answer

  4. Click Done

 

Adding student accounts to netTrekker

  • Click here for instructions (you will be prompted for your username and password)

  • Student accounts will be created by individual students on an as-needed basis. 

 

Using folders (My Portfolio)

  • About My Portfolio

    • VIew a short tutorial

    • My Portfolio is where all of your saved netTrekker sites will be organized and shared. Resources saved in My Portfolio can be accessible by you or your whole class.

  • Creating folders

    • View a short tutorial

    • Folders can be created within My Portfolio to help organize your saved sites. Be default, the folders you create are only available for you to view.

  • Saving to My Portfolio folders

    • View a short tutorial

    • Sites that you wish to save are saved into My Portfolio. Folders can be setup within My Portfolio to help keep you organized.

  • Bookmarking resources in your Class folder for student access

    • View a short tutorial

    • Bookmarking folders allow students access to resources without being able to modify them. This is useful for providing a set of links for students to use for a particular project.

  • Students access to your Class folder

    • View a short tutorial

    • Class folders can be made available for students to access. To join your class folder, students will need to be given  your unique class code. Specific instructions are available beside your class folder in My Portfolio.

Changing your netTrekker password and profile

  1. Login to netTrekker

  2. Under My Tools click Profile

  3. Type a new password, etc

  4. Click Done 

 

Forgot your password?

  1. Go to http://school.nettrekker.com

  2. Click the Forgot your password link

  3. Type your username and click Submit button

  4. Type in the answer to your security question (Be sure to know the answer to your Security Question! See this link for changing your security question.) 

 

Accessing district, school and library resources

  1. Login to netTrekker

  2. Under My Tools click My Portfolio

    1. PENNCREST School District Resources

    2. School Resources

    3. Library Resources: contained within school resources folder

  3. Open each folder to use and access the available resources

 

Using your My Portfolio folders

  • Create folders in My Portfolio

    • Folders can be created within My Portfolio to help organize your sites and searches. Be default, the folders you create are only available for you to view.

      1. Under My Tools click My Portfolio

      2. Click the New folder button

      3. Name the folder and click Create folder

  • Save to folders in My Portfolio

    • View a short tutorial

    • Sites that you wish to save are saved into My Portfolio. Folders can be setup within My Portfolio to help keep you organized.

 

Using netTrekker Help Features

  • netTrekker has great help features built into the program. As you are learning netTrekker be sure to familiarize yourself with these help files.
  • The help menu can be found under My Tools in netTrekker.
